We are located within beautiful Del Mar Horsepark which hosts numerous A-Level and GSDHJA horse shows between March and November. The location is convenient to the 5 freeway and features an indoor arena that is available for use during almost all inclement weather. We also enjoy a nice breeze from the ocean that staves off heat most of the year.
Boarders at Del Mar Horsepark are required to be in a program with one of the trainers located here. Boarding in a box stall includes cleaning and two hay feedings a day. Boarding in a pipe includes cleaning and two hay feedings a day but shavings must be provided by the owner or trainer. All lunch feeding, grooming, basic medical and training services are provided by Concord Equestrian Center.
We utilize a balanced program to help our horses and riders develop not only the skills to succeed in the show arena but also better physical awareness a skill set based in an in depth knowledge of what is happening and why. Our first priority is to teach the horse the basic balance and self-carriage necessary for optimum ridability and then to teach the rider how to move and work with, not against, their mount's abilities.
In addition to practicing both flat and jumping exercises in private and group lessons, every rider in our riding academy and member of our show team works on the lunge line to help pinpoint and address problems with their position that hinder the performance of their mount. Additionally, if old enough, they will lunge their own horses to learn more about the horse's movement, conformation and balance.
Our trainers create individual programs for each horse that balance the use of such training aids as the pesoa rig and/or long-lining as well as flat exercises to help the horses be the best athletes they can be. These techniques have proven very successful in helping clients whom have come to us with major challenges such as the inability to get their lead changes in reaching their goals.
If this is all greek to you and you want to learn more then you need to visit us! Through the above methods we have been able to offer clients who have come to us with their own horses an opportunity to 'step up' their riding and show experience. The advantage of being located here in Del Mar Horse park is the multitudes of both county and A-level shows that are held here Spring through Fall. Our students benefit not only from participating in these shows but also by watching and learning. As stated above, the training and showing part of our program is simply an extension of the fundamentals we develop starting in the riding academy. Whether a rider enters the training program through our own riding academy or if they come to us with prior riding experience we carefully go over and reinforce the fundamentals that we believe are the key to success whether competing in crossrails or over 4'.
Boarding rates are fixed by the management at Del Mar Horsepark. All other services are provided by CEC.
