About Mark Conley
Mark opened the doors of Concord Equestrian Center (CEC) in San Diego over 29 years ago with a vision to bring horses into the lives of kids and adults. He has built his reputation on classical English style riding with an emphasis on equitation and jumping. Concord is a place to learn traditional horsemanship and have fun competing. His riders believe working hard and being disciplined allow their riding dreams to come true. Concord has one of the oldest and largest riding academies in Southern California. The academy consists of beginner and intermediate instructors trained by Mark himself, and he teaches some intermediate to Grand Prix. The riders learn horsemanship and a balanced way of riding and jumping. They move up and progress at their own pace.
Mark is a Grand Prix Jumper and has also shown in the Hunters in Europe, Canada and on both coasts with established names as Karen Healy, Robert Dover and George Morris. His style is based on a well respected classical dressage foundation that allows the horse to become its best, physically and mentally. Mark has been known throughout the industry for over 39 years for his natural horse training, hunt seat equitation and classical English teaching. He stands out for his passion for teaching as well as competing. He teaches a select group of serious and committed riders who want to be classically trained and with determined goals (competition or not) of becoming the best they can be.
