Horse Retirement
Concord Equestrian at Red Maple Farm allows horses to experience retirement living their best life! Excellent nutrition, cozy shelter, customized social arrangements and preventative and attentive health care. Our Lexington, Kentucky equine farm allows for continual grazing and roaming green nutritious pastures with their new carefully paired companion friends. Concords' land combines gentle rolling hills as well as flat land, lush green grass, and cozy shelters to protect them from the elements. We LIMIT the amount of horses to make sure each gets the physical and emotional care they deserve and need. We make it our priority to get to know our four-legged retirees as it is our responsibility to love and care for them every day for the rest of their lives.
Be as involved or not in this next chapter of your horse or horses lives. We have a carefully constructed a boarding contract which assigns responsibilities for decisions under a variety of circumstances, delineates your role and sees that your horse gets the care he or she needs, both routinely and in emergencies. Come visit on any schedule you would like or if your life gets too complicated or the distance to great, we will be sending you a regular monthly report including photographs.
Retirement Care: $650
This includes:
- 24-hour turnout schedule, with walk in shelters to provide protection from the elements
- Multivitamin supplements given daily with low sugar grain
- Close monitoring of horses overall health and well-being
- Group pasturing with compatible horses
- Coordination of veterinary and farrier services
- De-worming and vaccination program
- Weekly grooming and hoof care, fly spraying, and fly masks applied during the summer.
- Blanketing as needed (blankets provided by owner)
- Monthly updates with pictures and videos
- Staff on site 24/7 as our family lives here.
